Dental Veneers

A dental veneer is a cosmetic shell that can be bonded to the front of a tooth that is already in place. Veneers are perfect for those who have chipped, worn, or stained teeth that are visible in the front of the mouth.

Porcelain and Ceramic Veneers

Veneers can be made from porcelain, ceramic, or resin materials. However, if choosing porcelain or ceramic, the veneers must be produced in a dental lab and require more preparation to fit. To make room for the veneer, the dentist will grind down the front of the tooth, take a mold of your teeth, and send it to the dental lab for fabrication. In the meantime, a temporary veneer will be placed until the custom veneer arrives.

Resin Veneers

Compared to porcelain and ceramic veneers, resin-based veneers have several advantages. They require much less preparation as your dentist will simply add layers of composite material to the front of the tooth to create the veneer.
